Location Settings & Permissions

Configuring an outlet/location in the RoyalPOS admin dashboard: receipt footer, reporting emails, GST/tax number, currency, charge taxes, enable/disable options, app & admin permissions, and changing passwords.

Where do I change a location's settings?

Open the outlet/location's Settings from the dashboard. There you set the location details (address, email, GST number), receipt footer, reporting emails, currency, tax behaviour, enable/disable options, and permissions for that location.

  1. Open the outlet/location in the dashboard.
  2. Open its Settings.
  3. Change the options you need and save.

How do I set reporting emails (daily report recipients)?

In location settings add one or more Reporting Emails. Business reports/summaries are emailed to these addresses so owners/managers receive them without logging in.

  1. Open location Settings.
  2. Enter the Reporting Email address(es).
  3. Save — reports are emailed to those recipients.

How do I add my GST / tax number and registered address?

In location settings enter your GST/Tax Number and registered address (and upload the GST document where required). This prints on bills and is used for tax reporting/compliance.

  1. Open location Settings.
  2. Enter the GST/Tax Number and registered address.
  3. Upload the GST document if required.
  4. Save.

How do I set tax on packaging and delivery charges?

  1. Open location Settings.
  2. Enable 'packaging charge tax applicable' / 'delivery charge tax applicable'.
  3. Set the tax percentage for each.
  4. Save.

What enable/disable options are there inside a location?

Location settings include several enable/disable toggles, such as: Remove Tax, Show Item Price Without Tax, Kiosk Enabled, QR Code Footer, tax-calculation behaviour, and enabling certain integrations (e.g. Zomato/ONDC) for that location. Turn each on or off to suit the outlet.

  1. Open location Settings.
  2. Toggle the options you need (remove tax, price without tax, kiosk, QR footer, integration enables, etc.).
  3. Save.

How do I set app and admin permissions?

Location settings include permission controls — App Permissions and App Admin Permissions — that decide what staff can do in the POS app, plus options like a report-restriction PIN. You can also copy permissions from one location to another to keep them consistent.

  1. Open location Settings → Permissions.
  2. Set the App Permissions and App Admin Permissions.
  3. Optionally set a report-restriction PIN.
  4. Use Copy Permissions to apply the same set to other locations.
  5. Save.

What are location tags and virtual/parent locations?

Location tags let you label/group locations, and virtual/parent location settings support multi-location structures (for example a parent with sub-locations). Set these in the location settings to organise multi-outlet businesses.

  1. Open location Settings.
  2. Set the location tag and, if applicable, the parent/virtual location.
  3. Save.
